A Brief History
In 1973, a small number of young and old families were led by the Lord to move from various local churches to Miami, Florida. They came to stand together as the testimony of Jesus in Miami to bring the gospel of the kingdom that many might be brought into a life-changing relationship with the living person of Jesus Christ and into God’s eternal purpose.
At the start, the brothers and sisters met from house to house and later gathered in a rented storefront in Coconut Grove, Florida. In the spring of 1974, the church in Miami and other local churches from various parts of the United States consolidated to meet as the church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. By the spring of 1977, the brothers and sisters returned to meet again as the church in Miami. The brothers and sisters met in a rented facility until 1980 when the present facility purchased. At the start of 2005, we began extensive renovations on the current meeting hall to increase meeting capacity to 749. We realized the completion of this endeavor in the fall of 2006.
Throughout the years, the Lord has blessed the church in Miami with an increase in number. A portion of the increase has come from the Latin population in Miami. More recently, the Lord has added a number of Chinese members to the church.
Today the church in Miami has over 250 members who meet on the Lord’s Day. The whole church, including all languages, meet together to display the advance of the riches of Christ. Regularly throughout the week, the saints meet together in groups in their homes for prayer and fellowship.
Moving forward, we look unto the Lord Jesus to continually bless us with His blessings for everything.
